Shannon Powell- Director/Teacher

Hello, my name is Shannon Powell and I grew up in Mesa, Arizona. I attended Mesa Community College and received an Associate Degree in General Studies in 2003 and a Bachelor Degree in Elementary Education from Prescott College in 2008. I hold a current teaching license in the State of Arizona and I have taught every grade from preschool to sixth as a substitute teacher. I am passionate and enthusiastic about teaching children and I have gained a lot of teaching experience outside of the classroom as well, teaching my four children, ages 11,
9, 6 and 5. I created TotSpot Preschool after researching many local preschools and programs for my own daughter. I wanted to find a school that would not only meet my high standards as an educator, but would also meet my expectations as a mother....for an affordable price.  

Amber Harris - Teacher

Hi, my name is Amber Harris and I am one of the teachers here at Tot Spot Preschool.  I moved from Tucson to Chandler in 2006 with my three kids and my husband.  I graduated from the University of Arizona in 2003 with a bachelors in communicative disorders.  I loved speech therapy, but I was drawn to the dynamics of teaching in a classroom.  My undergraduate studies involved working with young children in early intervention speech therapy.  I love the preschool environment, and decided to focus on this age group.  I am currently finishing up my masters at Arizona State University in special education.  Autism is my area of expertise.  I started teaching at Tot Spot in the fall of 2009 and have loved every minute of it.
